WHAT IS A SHOWCASE? 

  • A full-length performance: full-length presentation of fully developed live performance
  • An excerpt: 7-25 minute excerpt of fully developed live performance
  • An outdoor/site specific presentation: 30 minute presentation of fully developed large scale, live performance work

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ALL ARTISTS

  • You are a professional AUSTRALIAN or NEW ZEALAND based performing artist or arts organisation. 

  • You are available to present at APAM on any day between 19 - 23 February 2018.

  • You provide high quality promotional materials for the APAM program guide and website.

  • You have professional representation or management in attendance throughout the five days of APAM (successful applications will receive one complimentary delegate registration for this purpose). If selected for the program this person must be available to introduce the work (in one minute or less) on stage prior to the performance. 

  • You can meet the costs of attending and showcasing at APAM (e.g. travel, accommodation and freight). APAM provides the performance venue and basic technical requirements and crewing, but no financial assistance or fees. Contact the APAM representative at your state or territory arts agency to enquire about assistance that may be available. 

  • You are in a position to consider any reasonable touring invitations that may arise from being programmed at APAM. 

  • You can submit one support letter (maximum 1 page) from a leading industry peer to support your application.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SHOWCASE

  • The work is professional, finished and has premiered prior to February 2018. Showcase is not open to works in development.

  • The work is current - e.g. premiered in a completed form within the last two years or will have premiered prior to APAM 2018. Please note that work more than two years old is ineligible for showcase applications.

  • For excerpt showcases, you must be able to set up in 20 minutes or less and perform after one technical rehearsal. Each showcasing company will receive a maximum of 3 hours in venue for bump in, focusing and technical rehearsal. Once confirmed, APAM will require an updated technical rider for your excerpt showcase.
