Pitch Applications

If you have a work in development, you can apply to introduce your work to delegates and peers as an official Pitch during APAM 2018

Read below for more information or APPLY NOW

  • A pitch is a great way for you to connect with international and national presenters interested in new works in development and discuss future touring opportunities, productions, and/or investments.
  • A pitch is a 15 minutes presentation (e.g. low tech excerpts, DVD show reels, projections/plans and drawings, audio tracks, PowerPoint presentation).
  • Works presented as Pitches should not have premiered prior to APAM 2018.

Pitches will be selected against the following key criteria:

  • The quality of the concept

  •  Potential market, and/or audience demand

  • A draft budget and timeframe for the finished production/project. Click here to download the Budget Template

Pitch sessions will be hosted by an MC who introduces the selected artists and companies.

  • You are a professional AUSTRALIAN or NEW ZEALAND based performing artist or company.

  • You are available to present at APAM on any day between 19 - 23 February 2018.

  • You provide high quality promotional materials for the APAM program guide and website.

  • You have professional representation or management in attendance throughout the five days of APAM (successful applications will receive one complimentary delegate registration for this purpose). If selected for the program this person must be available to pitch the work in 15 minutes.

  • You meet the costs of attending and showcasing at APAM (e.g. travel, accommodation and freight). APAM provides the performance venue and basic technical requirements and crewing, but no financial assistance or fees. Contact the APAM representative at your state or territory arts agency to enquire about assistance that may be available.

  • You are in a position to consider any reasonable touring invitations that may arise from being programmed at APAM.

  • You submit one support letter (maximum 1 page) from a leading industry peer to support your application.

  • The application must be for a work in development. Pitches are not open to productions that have premiered.

  • The work can be pitched within 15 minutes, can be set up in 5 minutes or less and presented after one technical rehearsal if required.
